Acer recently announced its ulimate gaming laptop named Predator 21 X at this year's IFA in Berlin. no but seriously if rich kid student with their parents shoving money places are the target group for this product well.hel i dont know but its not good. The gaming beast is here. no honorable student has enough money to even buy a regular notebook let alone a 4000$ 20 kilo 21" monstrocity. I hope you're not in marketing or target group research because if students actually were the main target thats stupid. Money wise that's the more interesting option and you'll have something less ridiculous than 2 gtx 10p ultra wide (sure those cards are under clocked, but they made the effort to put one no under clocked, it would have been mooooooore than enough for that screen.
They could buy that thing to do both, or they could pay less than half the price for similar or better performance by buying a full desktop suite to game in better circonstances and buy a chrome book for school to browse through Internet, take notes, or make presentations. Like students who need a laptop and want to game.
It's for people who don't understand how to do things Don't try and blame me if you break something when acting upon my advice.

I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.
Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.Īpple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). 97Whr batteryĭell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get itįully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive.Ī 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs).
